A new nationwide survey has found that an overwhelming majority of Polish aftersales customers are interested in receiving a valuation for their car when they check in for servicing or repair work. The findings highlight the important role the aftersales department can play in creating leads for new and used car sales.

The survey commissioned by Tjekvik, a specialist in digital aftersales solutions, found that 82% of aftersales customers would be open to receiving a valuation on their current vehicle, with 31% being ‘very interested’, and 51% being ‘somewhat interested’.

Younger drivers lead the way in valuation interest

Those aged between 18 and 24 were found to be the most receptive, with 87% signalling their interest in finding out how much their vehicle is worth when checking in for aftersales work. Just 47% of those aged 65 and over shared the same view. Those based in the East of Poland, covering the regions of Podlaskie, Lubelskie and Podkarpackie, were found to be most keen on receiving a vehicle valuation, with 89% expressing an interest.

This strong interest can also lead to further sales leads for dealers, with the survey finding that customers are also highly receptive to buying a replacement vehicle. When asked, ‘When you next check in your car for servicing work, how interested would you be in hearing from the dealer about a potential replacement new or used car?’, the survey found that 74% were interested, with 27% being ‘very interested’ and 47% being ‘somewhat interested’.

Customers in the South of Poland showed the strongest interest

The survey found that those based in the South of Poland were the most open to hearing about a potential replacement vehicle, with 78% of respondents within the regions of Małopolskie, Sląskie and Opolskie expressing an interest. Those aged between 45 to 54 were found to be the most receptive to hearing about a replacement vehicle (77%), with the least interested (42%) aged 65 and over.

Christian Mark, CEO & Co-founder at Tjekvik, said: “Our survey shows that the vast majority of aftersales customers are open to discussing a vehicle replacement. By integrating these sales opportunities into aftersales processes, dealers can capitalise on existing customer touchpoints and boost their revenue.”

Tjekvik’s digital self-service solutions can be used to present additional value-added products and services to customers in a clear and consistent way during the check-in process. As well as items such as service plans and extended warranty packages, dealers across Europe use Tjekvik to present retail offers to their customers, including vehicle valuations and new and used vehicle offers.

Younger buyers are not asking dealerships to be open around the clock – nor would that be fair for the dealership staff.
